LCS administrative staff update

Lapeer Community Schools is announcing several administrative changes for the 2026-27 school year.

Chartwells director of dining services for Lapeer Community Schools Joanne VanHouten and  Lapeer High School assistant principals Robin Caporuscio and Kevin Wenzel, have tendered their resignations, effective the end of June.

VanHouten has accepted a regional employment position with Chartwells in Lansing. Tabetha Siegler, currently the assistant director of dining services, will take over the role as director, while Michelle (Chell) Alvis is leaving employment with Lapeer Community Schools to serve in the Chartwells position of assistant director of dining services for Lapeer Community Schools.

Caporuscio has been named the new assistant principal at Croswell-Lexington High School, while Wenzel has been named the new assistant principal at North Branch High School.

As a result of the departures of Wenzel and Caporuscio, we have adjusted some secondary administrative responsibilities and put in place a new structure for next year. We are excited to announce our plan and get started with the busy summer work that lies ahead.

The following building level leadership adjustments will be implemented for the 2026-27 school year:

  • Dr. Jeff Stanton will serve as the Principal of Lapeer High School.

  • Dr. Jason Larsen will transition into the role of Assistant Principal at Lapeer High School.

  • Mr. Wyatt Stevens will assume expanded leadership, serving as Principal for both the Rolland-Warner and Zemmer campuses.

  • Mr. Paul McDevitt, a seasoned, retired administrator from Oxford Community Schools, has been hired for a one-year term to serve as an Assistant Principal at Lapeer High School.

McDevitt joins our leadership team with a distinguished career spanning three decades in public education. He brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and regional expertise to our building, including 30 years in education with time as a high school math teacher and longtime varsity coach. He also has 19 years of administrative experience with a proven track record of effective leadership, having served as both a high school assistant principal and elementary principal within the Oxford school community.

As we prepare for the 2026-27 school year, we are carefully reviewing our staffing options to ensure continued, seamless support for our school community.

Thank you!
